Our mission is to transform the West Nile region of Uganda into a first-world economy by connecting its people and businesses to best practices and resources in the region and around the world.

 

Goals:

 

Our ‘Bulldozer’ Strategy: We will network globally with individuals and organizations to train a family of passionate, capable and trustworthy people to develop and lead businesses and institutions in West Nile region.

 

Goal 1: To establish a global organization that gathers ideas, skills, funding and other resources to support educational projects in West Nile. The 5 main activities under this goal focus on:

 

People: selecting and developing a board of trustees; staff selection, training and retention; building of a global coalition of the willing to provide mentoring or funding.

 

Values/ Policies: Identifying our Core values/behaviors and formulating policies that reflect these values.

 

Strategy: Determining and monitoring the general direction of the organization and projects where WENIRUDA allocates its financial and human resources.

 

Partnerships: strengthening and expanding our global collaborations with organizations that share our goals.

Communication: To speed up and clarify communication of goals, ideas and decisions within our worldwide network of people and partner organizations.

 

 

Goal 2. To provide the following key ingredients of economic development: education and career development for students; small business development and promoting anticorruption and good government. The 5 main projects to achieve this goal are:

 

GreenMango scholarships: We provide competitive scholarships to assist promising students with school fees and educational materials.

 

Integrity Clubs/Anticorruption monitoring: We mobilize students and local communities to fight corruption and promote good governance.

 

ECITA Workshops: We organize workshops for career development and discuss solutions to the toughest problems in the region.

 

Tali Microfinance: We empower small businesses in West Nile of Uganda by giving them loans at the lowest rates and by providing business mentoring.

 

Global Centre: We plan to establish a centre for enhancing the quality of education and business in West Nile region of Uganda through access to worldwide knowledge and technology.

 

        Goal 3. Make WENIRUDA a self-sustaining organization through:

 

Income from fees from the global centre.

Income from interest charged on microfinance loans.

Income from an invested endowment fund.

Grants from governmental and non-governmental agencies.
